Dear Club Presidents and Program Chairs,

Please contact Pingping Yu pingping.yu@genmills.com or 517-505-1027.If you are interested in having a program on Shen Yun.

Thank you for connecting me with District 5960 last year! I had the opportunity to introduce Shen Yun to 7 clubs last year and shared with them the ancient Chinese culture. I was amazed by the keen interest, curiosity, and warm responses from the Rotarians I’ve met, and would love to meet more clubs this year!

Shen Yun will come back to the Ordway in February 2019. We’ll offer the presentation from mid September, 2018 through end of January 2019. I’d greatly appreciate if you can help forward the information to your district again!
I look forward to sharing our culture and a world’s bestselling classical performance show with more Rotarians!
Thanks,
Pingping

About the Shen Yun show (www.ShenYun.com ):
  • It’s one of the bestselling classical performance shows in the world. Each year it tours to over 100 cities around the world and perform at the top venues.
  • Shen Yun is a non-profit art group based in New York, formed by top-notch performing artists and musicians with a common mission to revive China’s ancient civilization on stage.
  • The show features classical Chinese dance (think dances performed thousands of years ago in royal courts), as well as ethnic dances (Mongolian, Tibetan, Hmong, etc).
  • The 2.5 hour show includes around 20 short pieces, most of which tell stories from legends, mythology and history. Each dance depicts a different dynasty, region or ethnic group. It’s a wonderful way to experience the rich diversity and long history of China.
  • All dances are accompanied by a live symphony orchestra with both Chinese and Western instruments. All music pieces are composed by Shen Yun artists.
  • Grand production with 100+ artists in each show, on stage and in the orchestra pit
  • An animated backdrop interacts with performers on stage to create a fanciful experience.
  • Hear what audience around the world were saying about the show.
  • As part of its 2018 global tour, Shen Yun will present four shows at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, St. Paul from February 16-18 (first 3 days of the Chinese New Year).
