Hi Everyone... this  is what happened this  morning:

We did not have any visiting Rotarians  however we had a few guests.  Jack Matlock was the guest of Jeanne Matlock, Sara Letourneau was the guest of Bill Howell and Erika and Anya Schultz were guests of Steve Madsen.

Jason opened the meeting with the usual  announcements--check out the calendar portion of the newsletter.

The Brewers Bazaar is just around the corner now ( 18 days away to be exact)  and Jason gave us an updated  long range forecast-- 70 degrees and but declined to give a weather forecast...that doesn't sound good.  The sign-up sheets are out and about, everyone is getting their purple shirts washed and pressed, and  the raffle tickets are available ( don't forget to pick yours  up).  Everyone is expected to sell or buy at least 5 tickets and more is better. Need more?  See either Greg or Troy.  They still have envelopes that some of you haven't picked up yet.  We will be contacting you to see how you want to get the tickets.

Lonny Stormo was happy to present Paula Williams with her Paul Harris plus one pin and then was pleasantly surprised when Jason Hanlon presented Lonny himself with his Paul Harris plus 2 pin.  Congrats to both of them.

Mark Lambert sent around a sign up sheet for the Roadside Clean Up which will take place May 4th, Saturday at 8 am.  Come at 7:30 for a Continental breakfast and then proceed to clean up the area.  Meet at Stillwater Township Hall.

Jason gave us an update from  the Board Meeting.   There was a discussion regarding membership levels and the Club Visioning/Strategic Plan for 2019/2020. Our incoming president Bob Gray will be dealing with those issues.  The Board also approved the membership request of Sara Letourneau...welcome Sara!

The Rotarian in the Spotlight today was Steve Madsen.  This is the portion of the meeting where we learn something about a member we did not previously know.  We found out that Steve has indirectly touched Pope John Paul II,  Ann Margaret and Elvis Presley.  ( I wonder what "indirectly touched" means) He has also zip lined on 3 continents. But he did NOT win Troop 224 Pinewood Derby...his car came in last.

Our speaker this morning was Calyssa Hall  and her father Franz Hall.  Calyssa is the Artistic Director for the Zephyr Theatre...Where Dreams Come to Life.  She explained how the Zephyr Theatre is a functioning vibrant center featuring theater, music and film.  The have done many productions since taking ownership of the downtown building in May of 2018.  Performances have included Shakespearean plays  in Pioneer Park, Agatha Christie mysteries at the Old Courthouse and various other places around town.  They also have a Childrens' Theater where young people  have acting experiences improving  self confidence while having a good time.  The Zephyr Theatre also conducts acting classes at Brick Alley so if you are an aspiring actor- here is your chance !  Another endeavor of the Theatre is to have music concerts and to have a Jazz Club there as well. The plan now is to expand the present space and build a Performing Arts Center with a 330 seat Auditorium with professional stage lighting and sound technology. They also want to have  a large classroom, meeting room, presentation and rehearsal spaces as well as a stunning lobby and bakery space.  Franz Hall is the architect for all of this and gave a very nice presentation and explanation of the future expansion.  They are presently launching the Spring 2019 fundraising campaign.  Check our their website at www.StillwaterZephyrTheatre.org for more information or call 651-342-1542

Next week  we will have a STRIVE meeting hosted by Brent Voight

At the conclusion of today's meeting, Jason sent us out, as always ---to Be The Inspiration!
