Hi Everyone... this  is what happened this  morning:

We did not have any visiting Rotarians for this club assembly meeting preparing for Brewers and Bourbon Bazaar, but Sara Latourneau returned as a guest for the second time.

Jason opened the meeting with a few announcements, many of which are shown in the calendar portion of this newsletter.  He noted that Craig Leiser will be our quad-club cookoff head chef, working from a possibly 100 year old Spam casserole recipe.   Craig is seeking two additional cooks to prepare casseroles to the provided recipe - contact Craig for details.

Dave Waldschmidt's bracket is leading in the Hoops for Hope fundraiser, and Rick Robbins has uncharacteristically pulled out of last place.  Thanks for everyone's support for our Fast for Hope initiative.

At the end of the meeting, Jason shared sad news that Mary Parcheta's husband has been moved to hospice care and that Mary remains in Colorado to be with him.

Much useful information was shared regarding the upcoming Brewers and Bourbon Bazaar.  Here are some random bits:

Tickets
  • $45, available on the website
  • Paper tickets can also be sold, contact Ken McGinley to request them
  • Members can get tickets for their personal participation discounted $10 with a discount code - contact Ken or another member present at today's meeting to get the code
  • Members require a ticket to participate in the Bazaar, but not to work at the Bazaar
  • Our target is to sell 400 tickets (the boat has a capacity of 750)
  • Designated driver tickets are $15
  • One food item is included with a ticket
Financials
  • This year is our opportunity to reverse the downward revenue trend for the event, from $26,000 ticket sales in 2014 to $13,000 last year
  • Sponsorships are an important revenue source
  • The raffle is an important revenue source
Promoting Attendance
  • One great way is to arrange for a group from your office to attend - we'll provide discounted tickets to qualified groups (ask Ken McGinley for group arrangements)
  • Our event is unique, even intimate
    • No lines to access most booths
    • Most brewers send their actual brewmasters to the event
    • We'll have 3+ bourbon booths with many bourbons to taste
    • We typically have over 100 beers to taste
  • Brewers and Bourbon Bazaar Road Show
    • We want to attend other clubs and publicize our BBB event
    • A great opportunity to sell tickets
    • Contact Ken for instructions and supporting material
Raffle
  • Greg Otsuka updated on on the great progress on the raffle
  • Many great prizes
    • Hand-crafted canoe
    • Stillwater Getaway (hotel, pontoon rental, bike rental, wine tasting, restaurant credit)
    • Stillwater Motors car care package ($300 value)
    • Tickets to the Wild
    • Oak Glen golf (2 rounds)
    • Brewers buckets
    • Various restaurant gift cards
  • Each member will be assigned 5 raffle tickets to sell
Day Details

  • Brewers arrive at 10:00
  • Setup starts at 9:45
  • Many will gather for breakfast at the Oasis at 8:30
Shirts
  • Everyone is asked to wear their purple club shirts
  • To get a shirt, order it at Heritage Embroidery (near Curve Crest and Market Drive)
  • If you can't put the shirt on the club account at Heritage, pay for it and request reimbursement from the club
We're looking for 100% participation on this event which provides most of our annual revenue to support the work our our club.  If you can't be there on the 18th, you can support the event in other ways (talking at other clubs, helping with sponsors or raffle, preparing materials for the day, etc.)

At the conclusion of today's meeting, Jason sent us out, as always ---to Be The Inspiration!
