Youth Exchange
Stillwater Sunrise Rotary supports youth exchange programs.
Both inbound and outbound exchanges have been arranged through our club. Three local clubs collaborate on exchange programs: Lake Elmo, Stillwater (Noon) and Stillwater Sunrise. We sponsor one select student to attend Stillwater Area High School during the school year, working with the regional exchange group (North Star Youth Exchange) .
The Rotary Youth Exchange program is a year-long opportunity for students to travel abroad to experience new peoples, cultures, adventures and personal growth. Rotary is an organization of business and professional women and men united worldwide, who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. There are more than 31,300 Rotary clubs in 166 countries, with approximately 1.2 million members. Students may not be older than 18 when they leave for their year abroad and must be at least 15 years old to participate. They must also be a freshman, sophomore, junior or senior in high school at the time of application. Exchange students have demonstrated scholastic competence, and be involved in extra curricular activities.
